###Location

Casina Di Rosa is in the Maremma region of Tuscany. It is an absolutely beautiful location. The village is home to 300 residents and offers all essential services. It really is a small town. Everyone is very nice and after only staying there for a week we’ve felt like part of the village.

###Nearby Amenities

All the shops are within walking distance in the town: bakery, grocery store, mail office, pharmacy. There is a great restaurant right around the corner from the apartment “Locanda Nell Casero”. We have had one of the best dinners in our lives in this restaurant; it is one of the best of the region … we think.

###The House/Apartment

There is a kitchen, bedroom, living room, bathroom and laundry. The house is well maintained and it is decorated in a typical Tuscany style. The house was very clean, well furnished and well equipped.

Great location, good for day trips. We really enjoy the peace and quiet of the house.

###Garden

There isn’t a garden, but outside the house there is a small “terrace” were you can enjoy reading, viewing people from village passing around, drinking a great Tuscan wine or simply listening to the birds singing.

###Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas

Everything in the house was clean and ready to use.

###Bedrooms/Bathrooms

Bedroom and bathroom are perfect for two or three people. There is also a sofa-bed you can use in case needed, but it is better the bedroom where you can sleep comfortably and wake up with a fantastic view from the window.

###Kitchen

The kitchen was great. It has a gas stove, a small refrigerator (totally adequate for our needs) and a dining table and three chairs. The kitchen was completely outfitted with dishes, pots, pans, cups, silverware, etc. Everything was very clean and in good condition.

###Problems or Bonuses

The “welcome gift”: a basket with pasta, wine and tomato sauce. Our first “food” in the house. Also Gloria and Marcel´s recommendations were perfect. They served as an initial guide for entering in contact with the area and the villages around.

We recommend Casina di Rosa to anyone. We wish we could have stayed there longer and hope to return soon.

###Things to do in this area

Civitella Marittima is close to many sites. Day trips are possible to Siena, Florence, Pisa and other towns in Tuscany: Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza. We went to Palio in Siena (it is in July and August), and it is amazing. San Galgano, Pari and Bagno Vignoni are other locations that you can not miss.

The restaurant “Locanda nel Cassero” is located in the village. Everything they serve is freshly made on site. You have to try: “Bistecka alla Fiorentina” with a great “Brunello” wine … you wont forget it!

Finally, you have to spend some time enjoying life in the village, getting in contact with people from the village, and getting inspired by the beauty of the surrounding areas.
