Our vacation rental reviews
A quiet and historical area of Southwestern Tuscany!

###Location
A quiet and historical area of Southwestern Tuscany. We did not have a car so travelled by bus, which, once you work things out is very good. A knowledge of the language would be beneficial as the village people do not speak any English. However, we managed to make ourselves understood, it all added to the excitement and charm and being in a foreign country.
###Nearby Amenities
A local bar Da Dante within walking distance, downhill to the bar, uphill back to the village and the apartment. Next to the bar and excellent shop selling home made pasta and other goodies, we frequented it quite often during our week. Groceries were available in the village of Civitella, plus a bakery and a butcher, everything you need really. One must remember that they do close at 12.30pm and re-open usually around 4 pm. There is an excellent restaurant in the village, the food was just the best. We had wild boar one night, excellent.
###The House/Apartment
Excellent home in very good shape with all modern conveniences, plus very peaceful and quiet. A CD player would have been an excellent addition to the property, however, we amused ourselves in the evenings having a walk, or playing cards or simply reading and enjoying the peace.
###Garden
The outside sitting area was just outside the entrance door, not really conducive to making one want to sit outside, although we often sat on the steps and watched people go by.
###Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
Everything was very good, comfortable and very clean.
###Bedrooms/Bathrooms
Very comfy bed and a lovely bedroom with a modern bathroom – just excellent.
###Kitchen
A very adequate kitchen, you couldn’t want more, although I personally did very little cooking.
###Problems or Bonuses
No problems. Surprise that we were given a “starter” basket of goodies. Pasta, pasta sauce which was very good – nothing like in Australia, an excellent bottle of local wine, in fact everything for our first dinner after arrival. A big thank you to Gloria and Marcel.
###Agency and Representatives (and price)
We were met by the owners Gloria and Marcel, both spoken English and made us very welcome.
###Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
Certainly could stay at Casina Di Rosa again, but as Australia is so far away will not be able to. Although our policy is always to try something different. Yes, could recommend this property for all sorts of reasons.
###Things to do in this area
Relaxed, walked a lot, enjoyed views, excellent weather. Just were very sorry we didn’t speak Italian so we could have chatted with the locals and found out lots more about the area and the village.
Many thanks to Gloria and Marcel for all their kindness and help.
