The perfect town to experience Tuscany

###Location
Civitella Marittima was the perfect town to experience Tuscany. It is exactly what you would expect of a town in Tuscany, small of course but with a great restaurant, bar, grocery store as well as charming people all willing to say “ciao” and “buona sera” as you stroll around this quaint hilltop town. Yet we could easily drive to the coast or head to Siena or Florence for an afternoon. Perfect location for day trips. Our first time in Italy was a success thanks to Civitella Marittima.
###Nearby Amenities
As mentioned, the town was small enough that your were able to easily wander around and access all of what it had to offer. The bakery, grocery store, post office and fabulous restaurant were just some of the amenities found in this small town. Yet, a short drive to the nearby town would easily provided you with larger grocery stores and other stores if Civitella did not meet your needs.
###The House/Apartment
The apartment/house shown and described on the web page is exactly as described. It was immaculate and suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen was big enough to cook and eat in as well as a great place to have your morning espresso. The one bedroom provided a great bed to sleep after a long day of exploring. The small sitting room or living room provided a nice spot to sit and chat. The bathroom was modern and sufficient.
###Garden
Outside the front entrance was a great little spot to sit and read while enjoying the nice local wines. It was a perfect vantage point to listen to the swallows ever morning and evening. Being on one of the main walkways to the top of the town we could easily try out our hellos and good evening with the locals as they walked up the hill to get their morning bread or evening meats.
###Furnishings/Cleanliness/Living Areas
The furnishings in the home were tastefully decorated and suited the space. All furnishings were comfortable and of course clean. This was a perfect set up for two people and could accommodate four if needed.
###Bedrooms/Bathrooms
The unit has a single bedroom and has some closet space to unpack and stay awhile. The bed was a welcome site after our long days.
###Kitchen
The kitchen was our base and we spent most of our time there. Eating supper and breakfast as well as planning our daily adventures was a snap in the spacious kitchen. The stove was perfect and all of your cooking needs were close at hand.
###Problems or Bonuses
Casina di Rosa was exactly what we were looking for and perhaps the best surprise was how well organized Gloria and Marcel were and they provided some great advice. The itinerary they gave us, explained the region as well as all of the items in the house. Everything was provided for you.
###Agency and Representatives (and price)
The unit is owned by Gloria and Marcel, both who speak perfect English. They took the time to answer all of our emails and gave us a great sense of comfort by being very patient with our questions of “what to do in the area?”
###Do you recommend this vacation rental to others?
I have passed on this location to many who I have encountered traveling to Italy. This is a perfect location to experience all of what Tuscany has to offer.
###Things to do in this area
The main restaurant in the town was superb. I would challenge anyone to find a more friendly place with such fantastic food. We tried our little bit of Italian and they kindly returned with some English. But hey when in Rome… Of course you must take a trip to Siena and Florence. A wine tasting tour may also be on your trip agenda. We never were able to pull that one off as our days were full with all of the sites to see and experience. The coast, which is not more than a 1/2 hours drive away, is spectacular and offered up many a treasure. You have to check out all of the coastal towns.
